First and foremost
Mrs. Lieberman’s portrayal of Pornhub as being « the internet’s most reviled web site » is inaccurate.
Pornhub has continuously and progressively implemented effective security systems to identify predators and pedophiles, aiming to prevent sexual crimes on their platform. Despite the authorities’ challenges in apprehending all offenders, Pornhub’s efforts contribute to managing and addressing these cases.
Pornhub’s ability to vet and monitor user compliance, flagging problematic content, stands as a crucial resource for ensuring quality content. Also, managing millions of users on such a vast platform presents significant challenges. Therefore, how can you judge a company’s reputation while government authorities struggle to combat sexual crimes due to limited technology and manpower?
It seems to me that Facebook and YouTube are inconsistently enforcing their policies regarding nude content. Some users encounter strict enforcement, while others seemingly have more freedom. This double standard approach often leads to the spread of misinformation and unjustified bans for many users, while others can freely post inappropriate content without consequence.
When it comes to child abuse, it’s evident to me that it occurs globally, not solely on platforms such as Pornhub. This despicable crime is prevalent in various settings worldwide, including within the borders of the USA, among affluent elite circles, within religious institutions, and even among young stars in Hollywood. It’s fair to acknowledge that many perpetrators of child abuse, bolstered by their financial influence, often evade justice until they are apprehended. I believe there should be more thorough investigations into this matter to expose as many of these abusers as possible.
The new president of Pornhub, Mr. Friedman, a lawyer and professor at the University of Ottawa, appears to grasp the platform’s values and presents a forward-looking vision for its future, particularly emphasizing its role as a safe space. He articulates a commitment to respect individuals’ bodily autonomy and safeguarding young people, while also championing freedom of expression, individuality, and sexuality.
Personally, I prefer having a youthful and educated president, symbolized by someone who wears sneakers, rather than one who dons a velvet robe and is associated with the mistreatment of women, as exemplified by Hugh Hefner
